"The Big Do" or "Miri Mawr" is a new festival in Machynlleth which was organised by the Rotary Club to raise awareness of enterprise in the town. An ambitious and inclusive event which show cased ativities as diverse as poetry reading, falconary and model aeroplane flying along side stands form almost every organisation in the town it was deemed a huge success by all the participants as well as the large numbers of visitors it attracted.

Ancient Horse Fair

Dates: Second Week in November

Venue: Casal Branco Estate in Portugal

This was taken in November while we were visiting Portugal to see the ancient Horse Fair in Golega. This fair takes plave annualy around Saint Martins Day,usually the second week in November. See our links page for more information.

The Gypsy Song will begin with a gathering by the bridge over the river Gwydol - river crossings mark an important and essential stopping point for any traveller. A place to refresh the horses and to dream of the journey to come. We will create a "kumpania" a procession of the four and two footed which will then wend its way down a tree lined stony track..

Lusitano Society of Great Britain - Annual Breed Show - 25th Anniversary

Dates: Midday 27th June - Midday 29th June 2009

Venue: Hartpury College Gloucs

Classes: a great variety of classes for registered pure bred and part bred lusitanos and pre horses.

Queijada at the Annual Lusitano breed Show 2006

Queijada came 3rd in the In Hand class for pure bred mares.
Queijada went on to be placed 1st in the Advanced Medium Dressage to Music Class and also won the Elementary 55 Dressage class ridden by Tina Layton- Elliot

First Welsh Festival of the Horse
16th and 17th April 2006

Carreg Dressage put up a Lusitano display at the "Festival of the Horse".

About the festival: This was the first Welsh Festival of the Horse, staged in the surrounds of the Margam Park Estate. It was a two-day event organised and promoted by the Welsh Equine Council. There were three activity rings, an undercover arena, a craft fair and two equestrian trade-stand villages. A great family day out to enjoy the world of equestrian activities and some truly spectacular professional performances!

At the festival: The magnificent setting of Margam Park enhanced our display,the event was very well organised and very well attended. Adrienne Howes and her team had done a great job of putting together a very innovative and entertaining programme of equine displays really demonstrating the diversity that horses are capable of.

We were very grateful to Ken Barnsley and Laura Duncalf and their Lusitano stallions Malfadado and Orador for travelling from near Manchester in order to promote the Lusitano breed. The horses all looked wonderfull and hopefully gave a good impression of what fantastic horses Lusitanos are to ride and to own.

Dancing with Horses
	Jane Lloyd Francis and Georges Dewez performed at the "Dancing with Horses" show on the 1st of April 2006 to help raise funds for the new Riding for the Disabled complex.
